2019 Year in Review

Based on the title of my last post, I haven’t visited this blog in a whole year. Funny thing is I remember writing that “2018 Year in Review” and it feels like 5 minutes ago. 2019 was a whirlwind.

I used to be a master procrastinator and I was super scattered with my goals. But I honestly think being a wife/mother and having these beautiful humans as my focus, allows me to be super intentional with the bits of extra time that present themselves in my days. Their nap time is my hustle time and the YMCA is a God-send. AND, I can’t forget to give SO MUCH CREDIT to my go-to babysitter, Anita. She puts up with my last-minute requests and even cleans my house (when I think she’s shocked I consider it inhabitable). She is an answer to my prayers and a bright light shining in my overwhelmed, needing a break darkness. I couldn’t do any of this without her. (THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU Anita!!!).

If I ever go around saying I’m pulling this job off without help, please someone slap me. My husband and Anita are incredible helpers. Plus, as mentioned above, I’m not a neat freak. Some things are compromised in this season and I’m ok with that.

Because now my goals are crystal clear. I want to tell stories. I want to share the good people and let them be seen. I want to capture emotions and authentic moments. I want to build community through my images. I want to raise awareness of causes that I believe in. I want to make people feel beautiful. I want to share love. And I want to do it all through pictures and words.

I gave up on trying to include every shoot of my year even though I wanted to. This post is already ridiculously long but if you’re missing, please know every shoot is my favorite shoot. I love the differences between us and also what makes us the same. That’s really what I aim to capture most of all.

Here are some (just some!) of the stories from 2019:
